Post by sonbakler »

Nothing fancy but a quick draw of a fracking oil pump that I needed...might as well share it. Add it to your library, you never know :Like

Nice looking clean file!! Thanks for sharing your design. My only concern is with the long narrow rod. Even if cut at 48" wide, this is still only 1/4" wide and might be subject to damage or bending. But I suppose if the entire piece is mounted to a backer, it would be fine.

That's a well pump for extraction.
Fracking pumps water & chemicals & sand down the well at very high pressure.

So you found some pix on the internet....do you understand what fracking is ?
and when it is done ?
and how it is done ?

Just because someone keeps repeating "fracking pump" with that image, don't make it right.

He lost me when he put a "K" after the "C", what David speaks of is called the bridal, it is made of cable so it flex's as it goes around the horses head creating the up / down action which is tied to the pump deep in the formation (some are more than a mile deep) by sucker rods. This device is called the "Pumping Unit". The adjustable counter weights on he right side of the pic is for offsetting the string weight of rods.

The "Frac" (no K) took place after the well was drilled during the completion phase with a high pressure fluid / sand and / or hi tech polymer combo that is injected in at very high pressure with several semi truck / trailer mounted units. When the manifolds on those Detroit's turn cherry red you know the formation is coming apart at the seams. The purpose of the sand and / or polymers is to keep those cracks open.

A pumping unit is just one means of fluid extraction. I would go on but that would require my daily consulting fees to be paid and several million $ liability insurance policies to be in place. Jo called the right wingers garbage / I am Oil Field Trash - We are a lot deeper than surface garbage. :HaHa :HaHa

Bonus video,

This is an Arrow C-66 it would be used to run the pumping unit (if no electricity was available) on a well 3500 - 4500 ft deep (based on a bunch of variables). It uses casing gas (as in natural) for fuel or propane if no casing gas is available.

"Pump Jack" is what you have there.

couldn't recall the name, we have them around here as well, mainly to remove brine from gas wells,
however Pennsylvania does have plenty of oil wells.
