A little update on my bender, still going strong. A couple years ago I changed it up a little, now it uses an electric hydraulic pump for more speed. I never use the air/hydro anymore.

I am interested in the little jeep in the picture. What can you tell us about it?
Sorry, havent been on here for a while- the "little Willys" is a 1/3 scale i built with a 79cc. does about 20 mph and can pull two adults (180 lbs each)
if you search youtube for pvanweelden, i have a few videos of it.

Thanks again I Lean- i used the bender and a modified HF/swag roller to make this ebike with an 11" wide rear tire

For those of you who used a hydraulic power pack and ditched the air, did you just connect the pack to where the old air cylinder was?

I have one of these Air/hydraulic cylinders and also have a Swag cylinder mount for sale. I just converted to Hydraulic. We are a production shop and I needed the speed for the volume of bending we do. Both the cylinder and swag mount are brand new. I have only bent one 1" .095 wall tube in it with the cylinder and mount. I have $265 into it. I would take $190 plus shipping.

I know it's a long shot considering the age of this thread.

Does any have a picture of one of these from the front? I'm have a difficult time figuring out where to put a 4-1/2" spacer when the widest part of my bender is is only 3-7/8". I've attached a picture from the drawings that show a 4-3/4" spacing. I would assume that distance would match the width of spacers so now I'm even more confused. I'm also not finding a spot to put a 2-7/8" since nothing measures that width. I feel like I'm missing some spacers somewhere, but everything I have matches perfectly to the materials list provided in the first post.

The two arms that move with the ram mount inside of the main 2 verticals pieces of the bender. the 2 7/8" spacer is used at the moving arms. the 4 1/2" spacers go in between the main 2 vertical pieces.
Edit- corrected mistyped info

I know where they go, but wanted to asked since the sizes don't match the drawing. The drawing measures at 4-3/4" between the verticals rather than 4-1/2".

I've changed it up some since there was quite a bit of play using the spec'd size spacers. I'm going to be using 4" spacers in the vertical spot, 2-1/2" spacers for the feet, and 2-3/8" spacers for the arms. This will allow me to run 1/16" oil-embedded bronze washers between the vertical pieces and arms, and the arms and die.

I'll try to post some picture when it's done.

Anyone cut this out of 3/4" I have some from another project and was wondering if someone had used it. Would there need to be any changes to the plans if I do that? Sorry a bit of a newbie.

Long shot that someone will respond today, I am assembling my bender, and questioning where the two shorter spacers go? The long ones (4.5") appear to go between the long arms, and then there is a 2-7/8" and a 2-3/8" spacer, I'm guessing they go on the short arms, but why the 1/2" difference? where are they supposed to go? I don't have a JD2 Die yet, so I don't know how wide the opening inside the two short arms is supposed to be.
Any help/clarification would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance!

That turned out great Kevin^ (Hatchamn) - saw your post on international Fab page.
I assume you figured the spacers out? honestly, they aren't that big of a deal- easy to figure out once you start putting it together- its vertical- it doesn't need to be tight, just enough room to get different width dies in there
- after 2 years I still don't even have the nuts on my two bolts where the 4.5" spacer are lol. two weeks ago I used the bender to make a drift trike

Thanks, I actually made a couple of spacers 2-9/16" and used them in between the small arms, the 2" JD die was 2-1/2" and so the die just slips in nice and any smaller dies are narrower, so I should be good to go.
Your trike looks awesome!! looks like a combo of bender and roller to build that?

Hi,

Just joined this forum, as such I'm a little green on how to download files. It is a case of joining with the $20 sub option, or do you need more advanced membership for these files?

This is an awesome project and I'm really enthused by what I've seen on here so far.

I've got 20 years experience as a CADMonkey and am more than happy to help folks out, if I can.

Cheers
Ade
