Interesting, I am actually using the lock duramax torch on the 45, hope that's not the cause of my misfire problems.

The Duramax torches that are used with the 65, 85, 105 systems work perfectly with both the original Powermax45 and the 45xp. I have a 9 year old Duramax machine torch that came with a Powermax85 on my cnc table. I use it with the 45, the 45xp, the 65 and the 85 often for machine cutting as well as hand cutting. It is likely that the official word from Hypertherm is that you need the Duramax "Lock" torch when operating the 45xp, as it is a safety feature. The Duramax torches used on the 65 through 105 do not have this feature. Jim Colt
