Hello all.
I have a hypertherm 105 and just yesterday I've started to have an issue with the arc going out for the first cut.
It will go on to cut the rest just fine. I tried different patterns/files and had the same issue. I also tried different metal.
I put in fresh consumables, checked my air, ground, settings, and googling.
Anyone familiar with this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Ps this is mechanized cutting.

Re: Arc cutting out for first cut.
Is the arc going out or is a case of the machine beginning to move before the arc has fired and pierced the material?

Re: Arc cutting out for first cut.
The metal is being pierced then goes out, then it will go to the 2nd hole in the pattern and then no problem....
.....so yeah, the arc is going out

When the arc goes out do you see a 0-?? error code on your Hypertherms LCD display?

Not an error code in site. On the cnc it shows arc on, but the thc shows no voltage

I had an associate with a Hypertherm 200 amp plasma table and he had a fault that happened on mild steel but was fine on aluminium. It was eventually diagnosed as RFI noise on the ohmic circuit.I saw him today. He's just relocated his factory and had Hypertherm there today to commission the machine and replace come boards and the like so I don't have a final resolution to report.

Re: Arc cutting out for first cut.
Ok. Figured it out. So even though I tried different patterns/files, they weren't different enough. So I was making custom leader heads and they had flanges on the top. So when inventor puts on a flange it adds these little bend relief notches, so the torch was spending too much time in these corners and eating up the material, then losing arc.
Had to zoom in and fix the file to just a regular corner/90.. seems to have worked.
That aluminum I successfully cut were just disc, so it wasn't a problem. Thanks again for the help!
