Ohmic sensor going nuts - False tripping

Post by puma »

Pm85 here cutting some 16ga, but that shouldn't be relevant. The ohmic sensor is going off even though it's not touching the metal.

Anyone else experience this? Is this a hyper therm issue or something else?

It seems like I have seen posts on this happening when the nozzle and shield are shorted with water or slag in the nozzle. You might try cleaning the torch parts and see if that makes a difference.

Crud in the shield?

My ohmic has and adjustment potentiometer on it, does yours?
