You will need to open the Hypertherm unit and make your trigger connections in there. Not sure where they are exactly but it wouldn't be too tough to figure out i you trace the hand torch trigger wires back from the torch and find out where they enter the machine.

What exactly is the problem? I have the same machine with the Duramax machine torch. If you were previously using a hand torch with your CNC table this means the Powermax 600 has already been modified. Now that's assuming that Plasmacam had you open up the Powermax 600 and splice into the trigger wires (Orange and purple), you can just plug in the machine torch and go. If they had you modify the torch harness then you will need to wire the torch on/off from the Plasmacam to the small 'torch remote' connector that is part of the new Duramax torch.

Thanks for the replies, so this is how my powermax 600 is wired to my plasmacam. i plugged my new machine torch, but it still wont fire, is the pigtail the trigger on the new machine torch and if it is do i have to connect the black and white wire to the pigtail and put the purple wire together not sure if that the right way, i have attached some pictures on how my powermax 600 is connected. thank you

There is no splice into the orange wire? Just the purple? I have mine so that the switch connects the orange to the purple. But yours looks to just have the purple wire spliced in. And that works with the hand torch? There's no other wires going from the Hypertherm to the plasmacam controller?

I will double check what colour wires go where on my machine and get back to you.

The orange is not spliced, just the purple one and yes it for the hand torch, the red and black cable from the controller get connected to the raw arc voltage i believe i just followed the dvd that came with the plasmacam and powermax 600 quick disconnect hand torch i have attached a better picture of the red and black cable. If you could just take a picture of how yours is spliced that would help me a lot. thanks for all your help

Hi Joseph,
Your wiring appears correct per the Plasmacam Video Manual. Only the purple wire is spliced, and the red wire, and red with black stripe wire should be connected as you have shown in your photos. Here are some photos from the video manual.

Purple trigger wire cut and spliced as shown below.

Red wire (for arc voltage monitoring) connected as shown below.
