Powermax 45xp

Post by joeymcc »

hi i have powermax 45 xp on a cnc table and dip switches set to 50-1 output from voltage divider. I forgot to attach workpeice clamp then my height control stopped working, now Cutting 8mm steel i tested between back of pins 5 and 6 on cpc port cable and voltage is only 1 volt when cutting, and i am about 3mm from workpeice to try to get volts up. Any ideas?

You may have damaged your thc unit. What kind of thc are you using? Maybe disable your torch height control (for now) and manually set your cut height to 0.060" to finish your job. The important thing is to maintain the proper cut height, and not necessarily maintain the voltage specified in the cut charts.

If you were to cut 3 straight lines at 3 different heights (thc off) and measure the arc voltage for each line are you getting 3 different voltage readings? If so I would say your arc voltage signal is good and you will want to look at your thc controller. What thc are you using?
