Powermax1650 - is it worth upgrading the torch?

Post by derekmccoy »

Trying to figure out if it's worth upgrading the T100 torch that came with the 1650 to a Duramax torch based on consumable life. Has anyone kept pierce count and/or arc time for consumables for the old Hypertherm torches vs the equivalent upgrade? Thanks

Fine cut consumables are nice! I would think you could sell the old one to offset part of the price on the new one.

I can get FineCut consumables for the old T100 torch. My question was about the supposed extended consumable life. For example if the consumables last twice as long, the torch pays for itself after 6 months.

I cant speak for the 1650 but I can tell you my powermax 1000 with the upgraded duramax torch was night and day difference! I didn't count pierces but would estimate at least 30% longer life and way better cutting performance
