Maxpro200 Arcing

Post by buckshotbilly »

When the torch is finding the plate and arcs to pierce I get an arc from the braided shield on my transom. When it does this the torch miss fires.
I have cleaned all of the hoses inside the braided shield. I don't see any problem with the hoses. and have tied up the shielded hoses so they aren't so close to the transom. Could this be a ground issue.

Ok I've spent the last couple days taking the hoses out of the braided shield.Blowing it all out. Little more info. Its a 9' x 13' table. Sometimes when I'm cutting one plate might end up a little higher on the table after it's cut. When the torch comes down to sense the plate it senses that plate next to it and arcs to that plate but does not fire .That's when I saw an arc come from the braided shield that is around the hoses going into the thc box. Those hoses were about a .5" above the transome. I'm about to fire it up . I'll try and take some pictures of the setup. Now figuring out how to get them loaded on to the forum is another thing. This is my first time writing on your forum. but I've done a lot of reading. thank you

If you could take a video with your phone showing it acting up and arcing, then that might be a big help in trying to diagnose your issue. I really can't tell much from your photos.
