Cannot Initialize

Post by rboonstra »

Was cutting then stopped. Tried to initialize. Got error message: unable to initialize machine. could not detect limit switch closing on: carriage gantry.

When I try to initialize I hear a buzzing/clicking noise from the carriage and then the error message.

Tested x and y switches with diagnostics panel and booth are working.
Replaced all cam followers and both limit switches. Have new controller board. Now it seems it's down to motors and cables and i don't want to just start throwing money at $300 motors.

Need to get running as I have been down for 6 weeks.

hopefully you got it figured out. incase you havent, mine will do this on occasion. my fix......go into the diagnostics, look if any of the axis windows are highlighted. if yes slowly turn the rotary know to bet them to go away. try to initialize now. works for me.

Where are you located? Why do so many people choose to keep their locations hidden? I am in Franklin, KY. If someone close to me has a PlasmaCam or a GoTorch or Samson 510, and they need my help, I am happy to hop into the truck and go help them!

Yeah Joe, I don't understand why members are afraid to list their general location. I think it'd be interesting to have a map with their location pinned on it.

Another site I'm on has mapdots, so I changed my avatar here to a mapdot. So now you know where to find me.

I started one, but participation by plasmacam owners is like pulling teeth!

I recently had the same issue. I run 3.11 and I tried the lobsterlift solution, and it worked. No idea why.

I wonder if you have recently changed to a newer computer?
My old shop workstation died and I got a newer version running in10/64, and talking to my son who used it for gaming, told me that it was overclocked. I am going to visit the BIOS and change that.
It is possible that may be causing it to act funny..
Merry Christmas to the PlasmaSpider gang.
