Are you going to install 3.02 on the replacement computer?

Rob - what do you mean by "apparently no drives"? Do you mean that you replacement computer does not have an optical drive (CD player)? When you say "we were getting error" - what specific error message? What ever Windows pc you decide to use, you will need to install a quality parallel port card and install the device drivers for that card. If you removed the parallel port card from your old computer and installed it into the new one, then you will still need to install the drivers for that card. If you don't have the original driver disc, then you should be able to find and download the drivers online. If you are going to purchase a new parallel card, then I would recommend either the Axxon PCIe Parallel Expansion Card available at a discounted price from Robert Johnson,

https://www.490creations.com/products/p ... card-axxon

or the StarTech PCI Express Dual Profile Parallel Adapter Card available on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001Q ... UTF8&psc=1

Once you have installed your port drivers, installed your 3.11 (or earlier version) software, and connected your parallel port cable from your computer to the Plasmacam controller - then you can go to Settings, System Setup tab and check the box for "Automatically configure port" and then click on the button "Detect Machine". Assuming everything else is working and your controller has no problems, you should then be able to connect to the machine. If not, then you will need to take a look at your parallel port settings on your computer. Let us know how you make out.

Try turning off ahci mode in the bios and reinstall windows xp. 9xs out of ten that is why xp fails to install on newer hardware.

Where are you located Rob?

Seriously, with the price of NEW computers falling under $500 for a good tower, why are you $%^&ing with old dinosaur PCs? Get a NEW quad core PC and a LARGE monitor, and a new keyboard and mouse, and come into the 21st century.

Go to SOFTIO.COM for a PlasmaCam compatible parallel port card to insert onto the motherboard.
