DHC2. Initializes then the usb mouse stops

Post by pipeliner »

13 years & never a hiccup with my DHC2, yesterday the mouse quit working after initialize getting ready to cut, after several attempts I figured the pc was on the blink. Today hooked up another pc & it’s doing the same thing.
After the mouse quits, I shut off the table, unplug then plug in the usb mouse wire & the mouse works fine.

Any information or direction would be greatly appreciated !!!

In the scenario you describe where the mouse quits working, you switch computers, and the mouse still doesn't work - the first thing I would do is to replace the mouse with another one. You don't need to shut off your table in order to unplug/plug in the usb mouse. Since I use wireless usb mice, the first thing I check is the battery in the mouse when this sort of thing happens.

Get a LOGITECH mouse for DesignEdge. Did you recently update the software? Many years ago, DesignEdge used to have a compatibility problem with certain mouse brands. The solution was to go with the LOGITECH mouse, which does not use the same internal resources as DesignEdge uses for other purposes.

I use Logitech usb wireless keyboards and mice on all of my Plasmsacam control computers. But for general office use, I still like the feel of my Gateway corded keyboard for word processing and design use. But I do use the Logitech usb wireless mice on all three of my office computers as well - Windows 10,Windows 7, and Windows 2000 (for running the old AutoCad and MasterCam).

Will let you all know what happens 👍

Was the low voltage message from the Plasmacam software or? What brand and model parallel card do you have installed?
