Torchmate 4x4 growth series

Post by Bellaireroad »

Would you pull the trigger on a unused growth series 4x4 with unused hypertherm powermax 65 for 8k? Was purchased 3 years ago and never run. I know they have discontinued these, and parts are probably hard to find, plus the technology has probably advanced over the past three years
Thanks

That sounds like a good deal for 8k. I would snap it up

Price sounds right I have a 2x2 TM that I am making parts with for the 6x12 table. There is a yahoo TM user group that does a good job of specking out where to buy non TM parts to fit on the units. Make sure you get the dongle for the cad/cam software, the software itself can be downloaded from TM but it won't work without the USB dongle.

Thanks... where does the dongle go, between the computer and the Accumove box?

Also, the platen and gantry are assembled, should it be dissembled prior to transport, or ok to move as one piece on a trailer....about 100 miles?

I have a laptop to run the the cnc cutter. The cad/cam software is loaded on the office computer, the dongle has to be plugged into a usb port on the cad/cam machine. The one piece move should be fine just don't get carried away on the ratchet straps or go over the gantry rails. A set up and check gantry movement & electrical connection is in order upon new installation.

Edit:

For clarification the dongle looks like a USB memory stick.
