HELP!!! PLEASE!!! Burny Phantom PC problems

Post by sgsellsit »

Hello all,

I have been taken by someone on a Burny Phantom ST Windows XP embedded with Cleveland Motion Control, Messer MG Metal Master 6x12, Hypertherm 100A Hi Def. The machine was shown to be working before I purchased but when it got here,DOA. The Burny unit is throwing up a boot disc error after dmi pool data. I have contacted a company that specializes in these machines but I am strapped right now and can't afford the rates. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Oh man, that really sucks, sounds like a nightmare!

I would locate a local computer repair shop that can start by at least getting you beyond the disc boot error so you can at least get to the next step in your journey.

So what we're saying is the control computer won't boot? If so, it sounds like the hard drive got out of wack in the shipping. The 2 things I could think of is to first get a computer guy involved to see it he can get it to boot up. 2nd thing to try is to remove the hard drive from the computer and smack it with your hand and then reinstall it. That trick has gotten more than one hard drive to work again. If it does work, then first thing would be to copy the hard drive over to a new hard drive before it dies again.

This trick may work with a mechanical drive, but not a SSD. If you do replace the hard drive, I would definitely recommend going with the newer SSD (solid state drive) if possible.

Not that this helps but I have a Command CNC pc sitting for quite a while because I was building my table. When I turned it on it could not find the bios and or boot order. The BIOS battery was dead. Got one at CVS then got to the BIOS and changed the boot order so it started the Xbobntru(sp whatever it was). Been fine ever since.

I know this post is a year old, but I just got a waterjet table with a Burny 10 LCD plus. Powered up fine last week and as I was installing the water intensifier to try the table out, I just got the same disc error. CMOS battery turned out to be dead. I replaced the battery and re-configured BIOS and I am still getting the disc error. I tried the floppy "restoration disc" and it doesn't work either. sgsellsit, what did your problem end up being?

To be honest after covid my business took such a bad turn and I ended up being strapped for cash even more it is still sitting. I haven't even looked at it again.
