Cutmaster 52 torch contacts

Post by Fordt »

Have the referenced machine and lately started getting a “70” error for parts in place....near as I can figure the four skinny plug in leads on the torch cord (SL60) don’t always make contact at the machine and a little jiggling makes the fault go away. Has anyone else had a similar problem with a good solution? I’ve gently cleaned the contact pins but it seems like if they were a little bigger they would contact more and the little wiggle in the cord connection wouldn’t affect them. Would it be possible to pull the wire leads from both the cord and the machine and put them together outside of the plug, while still having the O-ringed air connection plug in? Seems like a lot to do, but if I’m cutting and jiggle the torch cord the slightest bit at the machine connection, it faults out and stops....

Look at this tread. Bit more insight into the Sl-60 torch/issues
