Open Paths

Post by Jfile »

Is there an easy way to find open paths in InkScape?

click on the image parts with the node tool and look for the open path.
you may need to go under VIEW into "display mode" then "outline" this will only show the lines that form an image.

Thanks. That's pretty much what I was doing but it is a fairly complex drawing and there are nodes stacked on top of other nodes that are not actually joined. Even in outline mode, I was having trouble finding them without going node by node and moving each node slightly. As I found the ones that weren't joined I joined them. Found a few like that but was just hoping there was an easier way. I'm getting there it's just slow and tedious.

When doing the node check I found the double node looks lighter (ghost like) then a normal node. And as you say sometime removing those nodes you find they are not connected (open line under). I think they are formed when items a moved over other items when trying to union or weld items together.
