New guy needing help

Post by mkingaz »

New to the site and just started plasma cutting, this site has been a great resource. So I was trying to get a file to down load and I can get the file on my computer but inkscape opens up with no image. Can someone help me understand how to down load or adjust a setting?

Thank you

so strange, yes saving as a dxf and I can see it in sheet cam but inkscape will no import or open file, screen looks like it tries but zero image. I tried zooming in and out and just cannot get it there. I'll try viacam next.

Some DFX files are formatted differently depending on the software package used to generate them. I use QCAD to convert these files when I find them. I open in QCAD then save the with its DXF (there are different dates for different formatted DXF file). then I can open in Inkscape to do modifications. You may find this witl viacam too.

To the OP. I have had this issue as well, but through further looking I found the DXF file I imported showed up in inkscape but was so tiny you could not even tell it was there. Most likely it is there but you cannot see it. Select tool then use magnifying glass.
