ALL KINDS OF TROUBLE

Post by mkingaz »

I've been trying to learn inkscape and a new table along with all the other things needed. I made a few projects, but cannot get inkscape to help me make them cut right. The first one is a dxf file i simply purchased but when I push to sheetcam it wants to cut it out completely wrong. the second is a sign I made and I cannot get the txt to union with the file to cut. Can anyone help?

Is there anyone in the Phoenix, AZ area that would be willing to make a little money and offer a new guy some help for a few hours?

Ok I downloaded the pit bull image and it will show in SheetCam but the are open lines and some paths were not generated properly. but all the letters were there. I will look at it more.

I looked at the Test.svg and it is very small and after sizing it up the stroke was about 1/4" this may cause a problem in cutting as you should use about 0.005" storke for cuts closer to size and path, attached is the cut path from SheetCam and you can see it is not even close to the normal cut path. Normally the cut path (green lines) are much closer to the item being cut.

I ran into the text problem to what I found was Inkscape will not union its text even of it is a path. What I had to do was type my text in another program (Word) and then do a screen shot and import is as a image and do the normal trace bitmap then it will union it to other things. Now it will union if you have the text touching the other items like the welcome sign in another post
