Just picked up 15 4 x 8 14ga. HR. Dec 2020 I paid $55 each, best price I found was $125 ea. Normal supplier wanted $149 ea. Gal at the front desk said they were expecting another increase in August. Still selling items but am starting to lose sales due to price. I would have picked up more material but took all the stock they had.

16ga 4 x 4 cold rolled at metal supermarkets......

$153.03/ea

Anybody know cheaper/better suppliers in the Mid-Atlantic region? These guys were always convenient but the pricing is a bit insane even for these times it seems.

I haven't purchased steel in a while, but I hear the prices are "through the roof!"

Are those considered to be "good prices" today? :Wow I had no idea steel had gone up THAT MUCH!

conz35 wrote: Tue Sep 17, 2019 3:36 pm Don't know what everyone is paying currently for steel. We switched to ordering in larger quantities to get better pricing. We typically go thru 300-500 4x8 sheets a year.
Just ordered (300) 4x8 16 ga CR for $41.60 each delivered.
That is a fact. Steel is LARGELY priced by how much you buy. One sheet might be $200, but 30 sheets might be $120.00 each! Gotta mortgage the house to get a deal on steel!
