Trying to get a good starting point to refer to when doing quotes. We get a lot of drawings on multiple gauges of steel and want to make sure we are not screwing the client or ourselves. Appreciate any assitance
There may be some who do it by the pierce or inch. Keeping track of number of pierces might help you get a handle on consumable cost, but I personally would just figure that into the overall cost. My software calculates cut time and number of pierces. I just go by cut time and figure consumables into overhead. So I basically use time and materials to calculate cost per part, plus any engineering/setup/post processing time.
