Post by james.davis »

Laruola's Couture.dxf
200403_044013_0.jpeg
So here's my attempt to convert with CorelDrawx7
can any body tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I guess your suppose to introduce yourself
My name is Jim I've been a member of plasmaspider since May 21 2012
I have shared over 250 dfx and conversion assists that I did myself
I have never charged money to help someone nor would I ever
with that said I realize that is the way some people make a living and I have no problem with that.
I would love to know how convert somethings that I can't convert.
I don't come on this sight looking for hand outs
I'm a member because I enjoy learning new things and sharing my ideas.
I've bought a Cintiq 13hd creative pen display about 3 years ago still don't know how to use it
I would be willing to pay to have someone instruct me.I don't do youtube they move to fast for me.
So long story short when I ask for help it's something I can't do.
If you can help or show me what I need to know I appreciate that.
I know the forum rules.

Thanks for the help
Jim

Hey Jim, I am not sure that you will ever be successful with an automatic trace. Looks like one that will need to be manually traced.

For sure Jim, the larger the better when it comes to auto tracing I am also found. The text should be easy and simplifying the desired outcome of the dress will really help. Good luck Jim!

I've attached a zip files with the photo enlarged as well as some bmps of the pieces. Perhaps they will help you to do a trace and connect what you'd like to keep. The bmps have not been smoothed yet, I do that in Corel AFTER I have finished drawing and filling the art. I have a program called Serif Draw Plus that allows me to enlarge the jpeg without distorting it too much. On another note, if this is a logo that you are being asked to do, I always ask if they have the file for their artwork in some kind of format. Quite often they've had decals done that the formats work with plasma cutting and it save a ton of work. Hope this helps
