Question about belt tension

Post by austin1289 »

I was hoping somebody could fill me in on the approved process of tightening belts on a dynatorch super-b. I’ve had it for around 6 months and it’s always cut perfect. Although lately I’ve noticed the belts are quite a bit looser than the book says they should be. It says pulling the belt tight in the middle with the gantry at home position should cause approximately 1” of gap between the belt and the table. Mine is probably closer to 3 inches!

Like I said it still cuts just as it always has, but I am anticipating having to tighten these belts at some point, and when I do I don’t want to end up throwing anything out of wack. I’ve read that a machine needs to be “re-calibrated” anytime you mess with the belt tension. Could anyone give me a little insight on this? Thanks!
