Good Stripper for Powder Coat

Post by Metal Lee »

Does anyone know of a good product to strip powder coat? A home recepie would be great to. I am looking for low odor and ozone friendly.
Thanks, Metal Lee

The pros use B-17, but I wouldn't want it anywhere near the shop. Super efficient but very, very nasty stuff.

I use RapidStrip 7000 from powder365. No more using long sticks to get things out of the bucket, just stick your hand in there and rinse it off. Eco friendly, water soluable and it works very well. Two coats of PC gone in 15-45 minutes.

Pricey, but how much time would you spend grinding without it.

B17 works amazing! But like Dano said it is very dangerous stuff. I have a little bit of it left and haven't decided if I'm going to try something else a little lest toxic or get some more.

I haven't used the B17 so no real comparison for the rapid strip 7000 but it does work, takes off 2 coats in about 45 miniutes..
