My first drawing
Hi folks,
I think I may have finally figured out how to draw something from scratch. I havent it cut it yet, but Gary gave it the OK, so it should cut out well. I hope to contribute alot more now.
Thanks
April

Re: My first drawing
Very good, April. Don't forget us little people when you get famous.
Now that I'm feeling comfortable with my cutting and coating, I need to start working on designing. We all start with stock pattern (most of us, anyway) but way down deep we feel the need to make things that are truly our own.
I'd like to commend you on your efforts and perseverance. It doesn't seem that long ago when you first started posting.
You've come a long way, baby!
Keep up the great work.

When opened up with cad system, the verticle lines are a little off. See picture:

Re: My first drawing
To fix squareness, draw a rectangle (or grid) for reference, then skew the bottom to the right a couple degrees, to get the right side vertical.
Then add a perspective effect and drag the lower left corner down and right just a hair, to straighten the left and bottom sides.
The image below is skewed, and still could use a slight perspective adjustment.
Images are like diamonds, in spite of having minor flaws, they're no less brilliant or valuable, and if there are no flaws then it wouldn't even be a real diamond. In this case, squareness has zero impact on quality, so I still give it an A+ for being well formed where it counts.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate criticism and tips.
Gary, where did you learn to do all this stuff anyway? Are you self taught?
Thanks

Great job April... Asside from the easily fixed skew-age.... it looks great!
I just want to make one thing sure though....
It's a boy right....?
