Drill center mark

Post by acourtjester »

How do you mark the center of a hole in a CAD drawing, I want to layout where to drill a hole on a drawing but cannot find a tool to do it.
I am using TurboCad 20 but info about other software may point me in a direction that would help. I have been drawing very small circles like 0.002". There must be a better way for the center to show in a DXF drawing

Do you not just use the hole as drawn and then use drill tool in sheetcam and then choose min/max hole size.
Tophole is 12mm dia, second is 13mm, then 13.5 &14 below.

What I found was in QCAD they had under Draw, Points, and then single point would give me a dot but did not want to learn another program.
When to TurboCad and was able to use the circle tool set to 0.001 diameter and then located where I want them. :)

I just draw a plus sign or a X over the center point location and then draw a circle to the drill size to make sure it clearly marks the spot and someone doesn't drill where a random scratch may be...... oh yeah, then I etch those marks in.....

If you use Fusion 360 there is a provision for inserting a center marking + . Just select the circle and then click on the centerline marking icon.
Geo Magic makes you jump trough hoops and set it in preferences.
SpaceClaim is pretty east also.
