Dxf to inkscape

How come I'm having issue's trying to union a dxf file I drew in draftsight, to clip art I've opened in inkscape? I've even tried clicking the difference tab and it still won't union the two together.

Welcome to the forum - that's a pretty abstract question without posting the file. I would assume that whatever you drew in draftsight has intersections or nodes too far apart to join....
