CAD SOFTWARE..WHAT S BEST ONE ?

I m newby....and wanting to buy a new Cad software.. I see there is so much Cad software out there..Qcad ,autocad, ect...I want it for my Dxf,Svg files for my Plasma Table files. Have been having trouble with files from this site.and most says they pull up good in there Cad software. so that is why Im going to buy some.thanks..

It really depends on what sort of things you cut. If you cut geometrical shapes (brackets, etc.) then you'd want a CAD type program. If you cut "artsy" type things, then you'd want something more like Inkscape (free program) or CorelDraw (not free, but the program I use). Both of them will do cad type stuff, but are much easier to use on artsy type stuff. The trouble with .dxf files is there are so many versions of them. CorelDraw will output almost all of the different types of .dxf files. Not sure about Inkscape's outputs.

Thanks Steve..Im going to buy Qcad,,and CorelDraw programs.Im learning my Inkscape right now.its finally getting little easier. Lol

I use DraftSight, they have a free version.

I use TurboCad 2018 it is not free (about $150.) but I found it easy to learn with no previous experience of any kind and have been able to draw for both CNC plasma and 3-D projects, still not an expert.

I have Qcad and for whatever reason, it doesn't play well with a few of the DXF files offered on this site. Other than that it's pretty easy to use.

Draft sight is very similar to Autodesk AutoCAD LT and it's free (for personal use)

So you think this Program is alot easier to learn on?? That is a plus...been working with Inkscape for about a month now.Some days I have to walk away..Lol Ill look into it..Thanks
