editing using QCAD!!

editing using QCAD!!
I'm very new to QCAD (3 months) and I'm having trouble editing drawings that I purchased from SignTorch. I want to edit (cut out) a short section of the signtorch drawing. The only way I have figured out to do it is to trace the entire section using the line tool then delete the original or using the spline tool the same way. Is there an easier way?

Have you tried selecting the drawing then, use the explode tool to get it to where you can edit it?
