3D Excavator
it's been a while since I just sat back and had some fun on the 'ol cnc table. With a few thousand images on hand, it was time to head to the 3D images and see what caught my fancy. I've got a couple of buddies with excavators ... so that was the project !
I used 3/16" steel and had to adapt the slots to fit. Even then I had a few issues but as you can see it came together quite well. Along the way I decided to modify a few pieces... ie: a bolt cut off and welded in to place at a hinge point or two.
So if you're looking to chill... have some fun... try one of these out !

Re: 3D Excavator
You can find many similar free files (and maybe even the one the OP built) here.
https://www.google.com/search?source=un ... QlfWCOP3bM
I downloaded this one just to see what it looks like. It downloaded as a compressed .cdr file. I used BitZipper to un-compress, and Convertio to convert from cdr to dxf format. I opened with Design Edge just to see what it look like. This one seems to have some problems. Some portions of some of the parts are missing, and also the free download didn't come with any instructions or better photos of the actual excavator. But perhaps you can take a look at some of the others and find one for us that is usable.
