ornametals,

Your BBQ pit looks great!
What thickness is the plate?

I built one with my father a couple of years ago.
We used 1/4 inch plate to build the main box (4 foot X 4 foot).

Then the fire box was also built out of 1/4 inch plate ( 4 foot X 4 foot also).
I used ( 5 ) pieces of steel pipe about 5 inches round to duct smoke and heat into the main cooking area.

We cut ( 5 ) individual circles in the main box and the fire box, welded the pipe through to carry heat and smoke to the cooking side.

It works great and you can load enough wood into the fire box to burn all day yet it keeps the heat at the right temp after flowing through the pipes before going into the cooking area (doesn't over heat).

Only down side was the weight..........I had to weld the BBQ pit and fire box to an old boat trailer to move it around.
Had to modify the trailer to be a smoker.

I will say it makes the best brisket and ribs around.....Works great for chicken too.

Just wanted to share my BBQ pit example.

Yours is very nice and I like the rotisserie. Great job :D
