1/8" steel cut specs
I have a new powermax 65 and I was just curious if anyone knew why 1/8" steel isn't on any of the cut charts? I buy a lot of 1/8" from my local steel supplier. Not a big deal at all, I can figure out some decent cut settings for it, but I was just curious of the reasoning that 1/8 wouldn't be a part of their specs.

I use the Hypertherm cut chart values for 11 ga. steel. The 11ga. I buy locally is around 0.118" thick - so pretty close to 0.125".

10 gauge is like .140 I believe. Not a huge difference, but I just figured they'd have a spot for 1/8"robertspark wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 4:46 pm 10ga?

I guess 3mm is the closest in the book settings coming in at .118"

You are correct. I guess I forgot that the chart goes from 10 ga.to 12 ga. But as was pointed out, the 3mm settings would be very close to 11 ga. I actually cut my 11 ga. steel at 100 ipm - which seems to work well for me. The fine cut slow speed 3 mm settings give about 108 ipm, which is pretty close.TrinityFabworks wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 8:38 pmMy chart goes from 10 gauge to 12 gauge on the 45 amp chart and it only goes down to 10 gauge on the 65 amp chart.
