New to CNC
Will be using CNC in Welding Technology program at local college. Trying to advance my knowledge level prior to using the equipment.

Good idea, the membership here is a varied group so ask your questions, keep them to a single topic so you can get a clear answer. Then move to the next as needed. You can break thing up into 3 main topics, drawing the project (CAD), generating the G-code (CAM) and the table operations.
Here is a simple overview I did for a buddy to show the process, not as a teaching tool just a little info ( the table operational software at the end is a version of Mach 3 setup by the electronics manufacturer). Image of the wall hanger shown in the video. Obviously you interest is more in the industrial fabrication field.
