Newbie from Australia

Post by OxxAndBert »

Hi from Victoria, Australia :)

No previous CNC plasma experience, but working towards a smaller DIY machine as I could really use one in my home workshop.
I'm a bit of a Linux guy having worked with Linux servers for many years - so currently thinking LinuxCNC.

Have already found some great info here, and looking forward to learning more and contributing if/where I can.

Welcome. I am in Brisbane. You can't go wrong with Linuxcnc's Plasmac config. The mods here made a section for it at my request so look for it.
I had another new Aussie visit me today.

If you search for spaceship plasma here, you should find my linuxcnc build thread.

We are starting to grow.

I'm in Brisbane also (saw Rodw's machine the other week).

Just converting my CNC plasma from Mach 3 to Linux.

Not an easy process, but one that should yeild some great results once I figure Linux out.

Cheers
