New guy from Norway

Post by Jostein85 »

thanks for letting me join, read alot of refrencec to this place on several FB groups so desided to have a look for my self :)
Im set up on the westcost of norway on a small island caled Karmøy.
me and my father have a small worshop where we fix and rebuild small fishing boats and gear on my speartime
I have been using handheld plasma thorches for some years now to cut stel/alu/stainless so when I got laidoff due to corona I figured I needed a plan B for income possibilitys so I bought at "cheap" crossbow knockoff from china. after ALOT of swearing praying and tears I finaly have it up and running somewath. currently using Inkscape for design since its free an youtube-friendly and fastnest for nesting software since it was delivered with the mashine but on the lookout for something better in the coming year :)

what I am looking forward to her on the forum is gaining knowledge that I can use to up my "cnc game" and hopefully earn some monney with my equipment (before it falls apart...)

ps:sorry for my lack in spelling ;)

Welcome aboard, the corona has cause so much destruction to so many it surely is a sad thing. It sounds like you are getting into plan B and looking forward. Great to hear you have the Chinese table functional, this site has members all over the world willing to help. You can use the search function in the upper right for a quick look around. And question can be answered when you need for operations or software. I like many here use Inkscape and love it, there are other CAD type program also free if you want. With some projects a CAD drawing is better to work with.
Have fun
