Hello, I am new to plasma cnc, basically new to any cnc. bought my self a crossfire pro cnc from Langmuir Systems a few months ago. I am learning and using Fusion 360. I have used it to cut some small Christmas ornaments, and my major project was to cut 1/4" steel for a welding table, the only problem is that, by the time I cut the top with all those little holes, the consumables wore out and the final cuts were not that great, lesson learn, use a new consumable with something like that.

Welcome aboard, there are things to watch out for that cause consumables to go quicker then normal. YOu can use the search function in the upper right to look around as to what others have posted to help. Pierce height is the main problem, but there are others too.

Welcome to the forum! That Langmuir crossfire pro is a very nice table, with lots of great reviews from fellow members. Lots of guys use a mag drill for installing holes into their welding/fixturing tables. Particularly if you need precision size for installing locating pins and clamps. But depending on your design, plasma cut will work as well. I remember seeing a video by Keith Fenner where he was cutting a series of round holes in a thick steel top using his Plasmacam table. It turned out pretty nice. Just keep up the good work and learn as you go.
