Ron Van Der Linden

Post by ronlinden »

HI,

We just purchased a 4'x4' plasma cam cnc machine. we have used it for about 6 weeks now and it work well for us.
We use it for our own miscellaneous metals fabrication.
I do have one question, has anyone come up with a descent clamping method when cutting smaller pieces of steel that can shift while you are cutting?

Welcome aboard! Assuming you have the DHC2 with Advanced Height Control, Advanced Machine Control, and Advanced Design upgrades - then you've got one of the best setups out there. Here are some photos of my custom fixturing for holding flat strap for cnc plasma cutting. For cutting larger widths, the dowel pins are used to keep the edge of the material parallel to the x axis of the table.

Welcome Ron, sounds like your off to a great start! There a couple topics on the subject of small part hold downs, I like David's setup above but here are a couple other links I found helpful in the past
