fire pit spark sheild

Post by plasmajoe »

I seen lots of firepits on this site and a few stands, but I do not recall seeing any spark sheilds as of yet. So I took it upon my self to share one with you all. Now this one was a custom size one to fit over an existing stone fire pit, and the client wanted it with doors and bar hooks for it. I disided to share this one because I find it will get your imagination going, so much potential for modifications on the design. I put the ports along the outside because the little girl wanted to have access to the fire for her marshmallow and spider weiners, :D . It turned out great and been working for them for years now, so I know the design works well.Have fun with it and it is converted to polylines for you all and joined, hopefully I did it right. Any questions on fabricating this please feel free to ask me.

Thanks for your post, Joe. The drawing imports into PlasmaCam Ok but there are no letters. Any Ideas? Is the font you are using not a True Type font? Thanks Russ K.

Hi Russ,

I use the standard text on AutoCad wich is Arial a True Type font, I run into that issue also when I use my MicroStation software also, I do get most of the lettering but mostly I get ? marks instead of dimensions. I have no answers to solve that problem. But you have the JPEG to reference off.
