Tracing a metal part using Logic Trace 2022
First I traced out the metal part on a piece of paper as the edges are jagged , then i took this paper copy and used Logic Trace 2022 to digitize the paper diagram

Nice work Stan! Did you finally get your own cnc plasma table, or are you still farming out the actual cutting?

Re: Tracing a metal part using Logic Trace 2022
I have to unpack my Logic Trace board and set it up to use. So much to do. So little time.

Re: Tracing a metal part using Logic Trace 2022
Stan - how do you like Logic Trace 2022 compared to the older version? Are there any new features, or simply an updated user interface?
I am still using Logic Trace 2018. What is the cost to upgrade to the newer version?
Thanks,
David

After a bit of searching, I found it - looks like $600 upgrade cost.

My own plasma table:
my shop is all wood 2x4 etc a plasma table would be scary but i could modify one room for it
But i did get a 300 watt non metal metal cutting laser with O2
it cuts aluminum, steel and stainless ---seems to cut stainless the best
Its still a learning curve and lots of small problems (china headaches)

Re: Tracing a metal part using Logic Trace 2022
OK Stan. So as I understand it you are using your non-metal cutting laser and by adding O2 you are able to cut steel. So did you use your laser to cut the parts in your video? As far as the Logic Trace software goes, I most likely won't be spending the $600 to upgrade to the 2022 version as I expect the 2018 version will do everything I need. I only use my digitizing boards occasionally, so I think I can get by as is. Thanks for your information.vancematsalla wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 9:02 am My own plasma table:

Re: Tracing a metal part using Logic Trace 2022
no I did not use my laser to cut the horse , its not fully setup yet and yes it needs a bottle of O2 and cuts thin metals only
i really got into this one because of the bed size its big
The metals are .5mm to 3.0 mm stainless or steel nothing like what you can cut

Thanks for the update Stan! I will look forward to seeing some metal cuts once you have your new toy setup and cutting.
