Need help
I know I'm don't put anything on here. I need help getting this into a decent cut file I've tried but just can't seem to get it right.
I put the pcm files on here that I have come up with so far but not sure if anyone can pull them up.
Any help will be of great appreciation. Thanks everyone for all the wonderful files and expertise on. Every forum on this site you are all so awsome for helping people use these machines.

Re: Need help
I can't open pcm's
You could do a few things with this..
A) Letters on the outside part, make a bigger boarder and cut them into it..
B) Make it separate layers and stand the letters off by cutting them separately and attaching them with glue, welding, etc..
Separating them is more work but it does pop.
The rest of the art doesn't look hateful, you have it separated so that is a good start.

If you know the name of the FONT, that would go a long way toward solving these issues. Ask him for the name of the FONT.

Re: Need help
You file is actually pretty close to the original artwork. How much latitude do you have as far as editing the font to make it more readable?

Re: Need help
OP has not been back yet, so I don't know how far I want to pursue this project without some specific input from the OP. The Mawns handwriting font installs fine into Design Edge. Some manipulation of the individual letters will be needed including unioning (combining tool in DE) together to duplicate the supplied original image.

Re: Need help
I agree. Some of those letters are just "flapping in the breeze". I was just trying to give the OP some ideas and maybe he can work with it to get his desired end result. He never got back to us to tell us how closely his customer wants this piece to match the original image. This may be a good candidate for a layered piece.plasmanewbie wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 1:27 pm Nice work as usual David, it's hard to determine where to connect things and this looks great

Re: Need help
By the way, the Mawns handwriting font appears to be a pretty "dirty" font as far as quality goes. It may be fine for artwork for silkscreening images, but for cnc plasma cutting it most definitely needs some editing and cleanup to produce nice clean cut paths. I had to do lots of editing and cleanup of the font in the OP's piece above. I have tried it with Design Edge and Inkscape and it looks the same with both programs.ROKCRLER wrote: ↑Mon Oct 10, 2022 6:37 pm The font appears to be Mawns handwriting.

Thanks for posting the image David.
Inkscape is very handy for node editing as opposed to Design Edge, where defective path segments need to be cut away and redrawn.

Re: Need help
I addressed your questions and more earlier in this post. Please go back and study the information and take a look at the modified file I posted in dxf format. You can import dxf files to Design Edge, so please take a look. The pcm files you posted today are the exact same files you originally posted with no changes that I can see.Weldamerica wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 4:13 pm hello everyone and thank you all so much for the help in this matter . this is the only file type i can get the picture to come up after i tinker in designedge.

Re: Need help
With your existing file, the details shown circled in yellow will fall out when cut. Also the "T" in Tasty will fall off as not attached.

Understand we all have to learn as we go, it takes time to look at a drawing and see where things will drop out and how to fix them.

Re: Need help
Here is my suggestion for "fattening up" the sections around the head, neck, and glasses to help from burning thru when cut. I don't know what size you are actually cutting, since your original files came in really large. But I think you will have better luck cutting this one at about 24" overall width. I have attached the edited file in both sizes for you to try. Please let us know how you make out cutting these and if you have any other questions about the file editing.
