Hello from Vermont

Post by Locust »

Not new to fabrication and metal cutting, but new to plasma tables.

My background is in aerospace welding, CNC machining, waterjets, and hydraulic repair.

Figured I'd set up a machine in my garage and start up a side business, see where it goes.

Welcome aboard, many projects posted here you can use the search function in the upper right to look around. What brand of table do you have, if you're so inclined you can adapt a router to your table and expand the projects you can do with it. Other options are diamond scribe and drag knife can also be attached. There are many software packages the really help in design and creating G-codes for using any of the options.

Have fun

Welcome to the forum! I know from your other post that you are thinking about purchasing a new table for creating smaller signs and such. As I mentioned, I think the Langmuir tables are a pretty good "bang for the buck" as entry level tables. I have heard nothing but good reviews from Langmuir owners. I personally use a Plasmacam DHC2 4x4 which I think is a great table with top of the mark software. But at a cost exceeding $12k for table and software upgrades alone, this exceeds you initial $10K budget for the table alone. Then you still have to think about a plasma cutter, compressor, drier, air lines, and so on. I will look forward to finding out what table you decide on. Good luck!!
