Hooked another one!
Hi everyone!, i'm Excited to be here!!! This is 100% new to me. I am looking forward to learning as much as possible, the world of cnc plasma is something I have wanted to explore for sometime and decide to jump in with both feet. This looks like a great place to get started.

Welcome. Tell us about the table you own, or the one you are thinking of buying. What experience do you have in metal working in general? Plasma cutting? CNC Anything? What do you hope to DO with your table? Parts production, or metal art, or ???amcrosby wrote: Wed Oct 26, 2022 9:15 am Hi everyone!, i'm Excited to be here!!! This is 100% new to me. Re: Hooked another one!
Welcome to the forum AM!! What sort of work are you thinking about doing? Have you started researching potential cnc cutting tables and software? Which ones are you considering? Or perhaps you are considering going the diy route. There are plenty of members here with experience with both options. For software, many use Inkscape or Fusion 360 - both free - for their drawings and either Sheetcam or Fusion 360 for creating cut paths and post processing to get the g-code to sent to their controllers. There are plenty of great tutorials on these on Youtube, and many questions answered here on the forum as well. Let us know if you have specific questions and we will try to help.

Re: Hooked another one!
Thank you for all the welcomes! I will have (as of today) a Cyrious Metal Works 5×10 with a Hypertherm 85. It is a used table with low hours, and the appearance reflects that, more to come. I have dabbled in metal work/fabercating almost all my life as a hobby, "just having fun", still lots to learn. Very little plasma experience no CNC experience (scary, but it is Halloween). I would like to make a little money with thebtable at some piont, nothing serious rightnow. My biggest goals currently is to learn CNC and unlock the madness in my mind and create some awesome art. I would also like to make this table adaptable to use a router and a drag knife. But 1st I'm going to go pick it up today, get it home, clean out space in the shop, wire and air it up, all the simple stuff first, lol. It's currently fitted with a candcnc controller, sheetcam, and Inkscape. Looking forward to learning what I can from this group.
Thank you,
Andy

Well Andy remember we all started in a similar state of experience so any question will be understood and replied to from that standpoint. You have a great starting point and things will make sense as you develop the bigger picture. Many here have advanced to seasoned and happy users with their CNC tables and are willing to help you get there. There are many posts showing how to used and enjoy the software and equipment. And help with adding the options you speak of, I have done both (and others) and with a little direction you to can have them also.
