Hello everyone,
My name is Gary & I am from sunny Coffs Harbour Australia.
The company I work with mainly cut thin galvanised steel from 0.6mm to 2.0mm for manufacturing air conditioning duct.
Also cut stainless steel from 0.9mm to 1.2mm for commercial kitchens.
We are been cutting with a Hypertherm 85 plasma for a few months now & I found that the plasmaspider forums has helped in fine tuning our plasma.
Anyone else out there cutting thin sheets that can offer advise would be very much appreciated.

Can someone tell me if the Hypertherm 85 is ok for cutting thin sheetmetal 0.6mm or should we be using the Hypertherm 45.
At present cutting with fine tip consumables & not sure of what the feed rate etc.. should be set on using the 85plasma cutting such thin sheets.

HI Gary Welcome aboard Many of your country men here too.
Hypertherm has a cut chart in the manual with info on how to cut many thickness of metal. The 85 has no problems with thin metal just reduce the amps and charge on with the work.

Thank you & yes I am using the Hypertherm cut chart just wasn't sure about feed rates etc... using the overkill 85 plasma
