When trying to cut 20 -22 gage material the torch will push the metal down into the table not recognizing it has touched the metal. I have adjusted amp settings to 40 but need to drop it further I think.
I am a Industrial Arts teacher doing nameplates for students and teachers that we bend up the name so it sit on a table.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

You did not specify if this problem was at the start wen the initial material sensing is done or if it is during the cut.
I will assume it is during the cut and that you are using a auto torch height control system. If that is the case have you tried increasing the arc voltage (not plasma amperage) to increase the cut height?
Also it would help if we knew what equipment you were using.
