LOCOMOTIVE(VERY DETAILED)

Post by BrianMick »

This is a train I have been working on for a customer, It will have to be cut out fairly large with all of the detail
comments and suggestions on how to maybe simplify this drawing without losing the detail would be appreciated.

Wow, nice work, thanks for the post. What program did you use to convert the photo into a dxf file, if you don't mind me asking?

I am running plasmacam designedge software and import the picture and do a manual trace. The train took me about an hour and a half to do.
Just out of curiousity How much do you guys charge for drawing something for customers? I get 60.00 per hour...is that to low do you think?

I charge a manditory $55.00 for the first hour of CAD time. Then $35 for every hour past that. I get told alot that that is too much money to scribble something a computer program. So i usually get out of my seat, point at the computer and say " give it your best try" 8-)

Im on the prowl for a good used Hypertherm Plasma with hand torch.
PM me with details
Thanks

the train looks good

i charge 60 an hour for complex designs. if its a simple .ai file or something that takes less then 10-15 mins to make a cutting file i dont charge for designing. i had a customer that i use to do stuff for until i charged him a 2 hour design fee for a super complex 10 layer psd logo and wanted it rushed...some peole think u just make a couple key strokes and BAM its done.
