
Steps per inch Calibrations
On the axis rail mark a starting point, Than tell that axis to move say 5”. Then measure how far it moved say 7.5”
the formula is 5 divided by 7.5 equals a percent value. This case .6666 so find the original steps per inch value in the software.
Multiply the original steps per inch value by that percent to get the new steps per inch value to enter in the software.
If it moved more then told you will get a less than 1 percent.
If it moved less then told you will get over 1 percent to multiply the original steps per inch
Move the axis a longer distance to get a better correction in the formula.
