Re: SIX PlasmaCam GO TORCH Machines for Sale - Parting Out

Okay ... ... They have to go! You leave me no choice.

Due to the B.S. involved in the "Transfer of Ownership" of these machines through PlasmaCam, I will now part these out as NEW individual components.

The carriage assembly alone sells for $1,995.00 through PlasmaCam. A NEW spare controller box is $3,000.00 The gantry motor is $500.00. The Go Torch gantry assembly is $1,495.00 new cost. I have cam follower bearings, belts and springs to sell too. I GUESS I will also have a pile of new Go Torch rails with gear racks, for anyone who wants to use them to extend your table rails beyond the legs to make an onboard pipe cutter.

A Go Torch gantry assembly can serve as a pipe cutter mounted onto a 4x4 or 510 table rail, for those who do not want to disassemble their PlasmaCam tables to cut pipe with the pipe cutting assembly we all bought, but NEVER use.

I will sell ALL of these components separately for 65% of new cost, including insured shipping and a tracking number.

I literally have enough PARTS to build about 20 working tables. 4x4s, 510s, and Go Torch machines. However, I will not sell working tables or DesignEdge licenses. only PARTS!

Parts is parts!

If the astounding sales (3) for our P-CAM table retrofits we offered are any indication of the appetite for that old technology , you may own that collection for a long time. Unlike 15 years ago when there were few Hobby Grade tables being offered, there are now currently dozens. Since a large portion of the cost of any of those models is the software and licensing it makes trying to build something from scratch less than attractive. This is not the same marketplace it was even 5 years ago.
I wish you success. Don't quit your day job!

Consider for a moment, that your retrofit might not be attractive to PlasmaCam table owners who must also give up using DesignEdge software in the process.

I have decided to NOT sell the complete machines. The hoops PlasmaCam requires me to jump through via the "Transfer of Ownership" process are just too bothersome. I want to part out these machines. Current PlasmaCam owners can benefit from the savings!

Actually that was the attractive part. The old machines had old software and to get controllers fixed or supported they had to upgrade the software. Most were old machines sitting in a corner or acquired from a school without PC and software or with the older 3.1 versions. While there was a lot of Interest , not so much in putting money into really old technology .
Selling parts may be the best approach .

Yes, the products you produce to bring the old PlasmaCam tables (and software) into the 21st Century are great! I am not thinking about the people with the VERY OLD table who are running the PlasmaCAM 3.xx software, and the old 98Z tables with those weak round Z motors. You definitely can make their lives better.

The people with the (last gen.) PlasmaCam DHC2 tables and the Samson 510 tables are not drawn to the conversions you offer, because these tables and the software are good enough, even with all of their quirks.

Even those tables will eventually be phased out now that the GENESIS tables are being released. I am not going to spend the money to move up to a Genesis table though. It is not different enough to spend that kind of money on the upgrade.
