Marine Corps Emblem/Logo

Post by 04 Marine »

Hi Folks,

Mostly I have airplane weather vanes but I am also a retired Marine Major. I would really like to find a detailed DXF of the Eagle...Globe...and Anchor, or the seal within rope. I've been looking for a file to post and I think I found one that I will post later today. I'm in my 60's and headed off to physical therapy right now. That's what happens when your young and you believe yourself to be indestructable. I flew some 350 combat missions as a door gunner when I was a young Marine Sergeant.

Later, I'll post a DXF of a geodesic dome built of stars, it folds together and casts stars all over the room when a candle is placed inside.

First, I would like to thank you for your service to our country, sir. Words can never fully convey how I feel for the veterans and their families.

I am currently working on the Marine Corps Emblem, and have been for the past 4 days. It is one of the more time consuming projects that I have undertaken since I did the Maryland Terrapins logo. I will have it completed today, hopefully before 2 PM. I plan to cut this out for my 75 year old father who is also a retried Marine of the Korean War.

'04 Marine,
I too would like to thank you and all the servicemen, women and families for their sacrifices for our country.

Here's a Marine Logo that I drew up about a year ago for my cousin. I hope it will help you.

Thanks again!!!!

Thanks Folks,

But no thanks for service is required. In 24 years, I had more fun than the law very likely allowed. I entered the Corps in 1966 right out of high school. During my career, I served with HMM-364's Purple Foxes as a .50 Cal. door gunner. I spent one tour as a Marine Corps Drill Instructor and was then selected to Warrant Officer and finally retired as a Major. Mean while the Corps sent me to college for a BS then to college for a MBA and back a couple more time to finally retire with a PhD. I've managed large airports, air traffic control facilities and owned an aviation fuel service. Now I'm retired and having fun.

Here is a copy of the HMH-362 Logo.

Many thanks for all the support.

Well, first let's give credit where credit is due. You are welcome as far as I posted them. The authors of those files were kind
enough to share them. They did the hard work for which I applaud them. Naturally, I think the files are great because of the
content. I pale in comparison to 04 marines career, but nonetheless I also will forever be a Marine. I thank all the people
on this site that contribute their hard work.
Thanks to one and all!
Loyd

PS Admin, have a great day and don't sweat the small stuff, you do a great job!

Hi Loyd

Thanks for the kind words and sound advice. I pieced this thread back together the best I could and have requested any remaining missing files from the original author/member. Thanks for your support and enjoy the holidays. :D

Traneman, I am currently using an old Vulcan 1800 plasma cutter that has seen better days. Using 14 ga black iron, and keeping in mind that I need to have at least 1/8" of material left to have everything stay together; the diameter of the whole logo is 30". It turned out really well, and every Marine here at the shop and their Marine buddies is now urging me to make them one. Funny how that happens.

Here is the ugly angels that got lost. To my understanding, this is the original logo. Somewhere down the line it got modified, and looks like the one posted previos. Not sure. This is what my dad told me and he has this patch from Vietnam.

Old Navy guy here. Was stationed with the Marines for 4 years a few years ago. Does anyone have the Navy plaque? I tried to alter the Marine one, but cannot touch the Marines!

Thanks!

I cut these out of small left over brass and stainless. I carry a bunch in the saddle bags of my scoot and give them to vets when I meet them. I've seen them on Harley windsheilds, truck dash boards, tool boxes... I've given out over a thousand of these and still love the reaction I get just for giving these away and saying thanks for your service.
