Can't open it in Plasma Cam. Not sure why. Try exporting it as a dxf file and posting that. Thanks

OK. Thanks to Russ, looks like what I am looking for. I see what he did to keep pieces from falling out but having no luck recreating his adjustment. I can not seem to figure out how to open up the D like he has. No doubt it is simple, but I guess my mind is much simpler, lol.

Re: Help with first creation
Your D, A, and R are going to fall out and just the outside outline will show up on your sign. In order to keep the insides, which will give you the actual "letter", and not just the outline, you need to keep it attached to the main part of the sign (the rectangle). The way to do that is to stencil your lettering....in Plasmacam, it is a simple as drawing two parallel lines say at the bottom middle of the A, while letting the lines run beyond the actual lettering, and then use the trim function to cut off excess and to trim out the letter itself so that you have a small strip to hold the middle to the rectangle...
Probably makes no sense to you, but I would very highly recommend that you go to the video tutorial that came with your software, and go through chapter 7 thoroughly to at least get the basic functions down pat...what you are asking is some of the simplest functions to perform, and I can promise you that you will not be able to cut much of anything until you have a command of these....not trying to be critical....just save you some time....and material...

Thanks for the info cjdauthier. I had forgotten about Chapter 7 as it is only available in PDF form. I have printed it out and placed in a binder. I take it with me when I work so I can read when time permits. When I get home, I am practicing. Making much sense now.
