Re: converting
Unless the image is a black silhouette on a white background, there is nothing that will produce a cutable DXF. You'll have so much clean up work that it is quicker to just trace the photo in a drawing program. Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator can both do the conversion. Most decent vector drawing programs can do bitmap to vector conversion.

Yes, I wish those TV shows that half the husbands watch between football games would stop making out it's that simple.
If I had a dollar for every time an overknowledged husband explained to his wife "it's simple honey, you just scan the picture in and the computer does the rest" I wouldn't have to cut to make a living. It's really fun to then stand back and watch as my wife or son then go onto explain to the wife what's actually involved and watching her chew his ear out as they walk off, often after she has either purchased or ordered.
No simple fix, the internet is your best friend, read tutorials and watch a lot of youtube videos and pactice, not that I'm an expert but have learned a heap from the net and guys here.

CorelDraw X6 has has bitmap trace function that works pretty good. But as the other poster indicated, you have to go into the file and clean up the trace to take out flyers and smooth lines up.
