Tube cutting

Post by Fountaine »

I have a TD A40 plasma cutter with a THC.

Is there a way to cut 2" pipe on a diagonal?

That video shows the side mount unit that mounts onto the side of your table. This allows for cuts as long as your table.

Torchmate has another attachment that mounts inside the table itself. It allows for cuts as wide as your table and is much less expensive. Here is a link to the torchmate site. you can click each option to show which one would work best for you.

I would love to get the external one, but will probably settle for the other. It can handle up to 8" pipe and will cut as wide as your table. I seem to recall the price being under 2K for the attachment...but not sure. I can't find a price list on it but have sent an e-mail to torchmate to see what it would cost. When I hear back I will try to remember to post up the costs.

I just received a quote from TorchMate on the Tube Cutter that would attach to your existing machine....The cost of this is just under $2800. This includes S/H.

I also have the data you would have to explore to see if this is compatible with your controller. I will pass this on to anyone that wants it. Send me a private message if you do.

Does any one have the price and opinions for the PlasmaCam tube cutting attachment? I saw a few videos on youtube and saw the pieces made by the manufacturer. It looks quite impressive, but the setup with the belt, I'm not convinced.

I am going to try and make a jig. I think if I mark with a marker and set up a jig to hold while I pull and rotate, I might be able to pull this off.
